The first step is always the toughest.  We all can agree to that!

According to psychologist Sanjay Srivastav, statically when you enter your 30s you become more set in your ways.  We are creatures of habit and routine. Just as it takes us our youth and young adulthood to develop our behaviors and habits it takes us a lot of hard work and reprogramming to change. As we get older we are more attracted to stability and comfort, even if it is not healthy or positive.

First step to living a healthier lifestyle is to admit that you want to change.

By being mindful you start to transform your life one step at a time.
Gratitude is a feeling, from the heart or attitude in acknowledgment of a benefit that one has received or will receive.
Two researchers show that gratitude will amplify your way of life. Michael McCollough of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and Robert Emmons of the University of California at Davis, did an experiment about gratitude and its effect on well-being.
They recorded 3 different groups, and each group was asked to keep daily journals. Keeping up with the current events from their each group was told to journal different events. One group was told to write bad or good things that occurred during the day, the other unpleasant experiences and the last group was to journal about the good  and why they were grateful.
The results showed that with the gratitude study, each person experienced enthusiasm, determination, happiness, energy and less depression or stress. Also by being more grateful everyone could exercise and make positive changes.
Exercising is another key to make a positive step to changing your life.  While exercising you feel the benefits of the endorphins being released and you will feel less stress in your daily life.
Goal setting is a tool for creating your vision of the future.  By using a tool like a vision board, you can turn your vision of this future into reality.  What is a vision board? A vision board is a collage, of your desired life you want to life.  All you do is purchase a poster or foam board and recycle old magazines and glue cut outs of what you are attracted too or how you want your life to manifest. By goal setting you have a direction and idea of how to obtain your goals.
Volunteering is very rewarding. But it sure can be difficult when we have busy lives with demanding jobs and our family life. But if you can find the time volunteering is extremely rewarding. It’s a great way to connect with your community and help others.

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
